This coffee shop is a new life adventure for both of us. We moved to the foothills about 10 years ago. Tom is originally from Wisconsin and a die-hard Packer fan and Mari is a Colorado gal who loves the Broncos. We met and fell in love later in life with our children grown now sharing eight amazing grandchildren. Both stressed out executives and fully engaged in the rat race of life, we found our home and community to be our safe haven. There was always a point in our commute to and from Denver's airport and/or Tom's Aurora office where we knew we were leaving the city and all of its problems behind, where we could breath deeply and sigh with relief; we were HOME!
For the past several years, each day of our commute would take us past the vacant and former "Little Log Store" wishing someone would buy the place and make it into a warm and inviting community gathering spot. We even talked about and dreamed together that that someone could be us. Five years ago, we went so far as to put an offer on the place but the timing was off. Well, here it is five years later and we've done it. For better or for worse, we now own the "Little Log Store" and we are hoping to turn it into that warm and inviting community gathering place - a Coffee Shop called Tomari's - Tom and Mari together under one roof hoping to serve our community which has given us so very much.
This blog is about our journey to build Tomari's - A little coffee shop with a BIG heart!
I'm busy working on my blog posts. Watch this space!
